The Electronic Travel Authority (ETA), subclass 601, is an electronic visa digitally linked to your passport, specifically for tourism or business visits to Australia.
For Tourists: If you’re planning a holiday, recreational activities, or visiting family and friends, the Tourist Electronic Travel visa is suitable. It’s valid for one year, permitting multiple entries, with each stay limited to three months.
For Business Visitors: The Business Electronic Travel visa is for individuals undertaking business activities in Australia, such as attending conferences, trade fairs, or seminars, exploring employment opportunities, or negotiating, signing, or reviewing business contracts. Like the tourist visa, it’s valid for one year and allows multiple visits of up to three months each.

Health Insurance: You are required to have health coverage for the entirety of your stay in Australia. While the text mentions Australia’s national health scheme (Medicare), it also advises comparing and buying Overseas Visitors Health Cover (OVHC) plans, which are typically required for 601 visa holders to cover health costs.
Family Applications: Each family member, including children under 18 listed on a passport, must apply for their own separate ETA visa.
You can apply for this visa using the Australian ETA app available on the Apple App store and Google Play store.
